Chapter 1: Meet Rexie the Dino

Chapter 1: Meet Rexie the Dino

In a lush green valley full of ancient ferns and singing dragonflies, lived a small Tyrannosaurus Rex named Rexie.

Now, most people think T-Rexes are big, scary, and always stomping and roaring. But Rexie wasn’t like that at all.

He was the youngest dino in Dino Hollow, and although he had tiny arms, big feet, and a mighty roar, he was actually very gentle and very, very sleepy.

In fact, no matter what time of day it was, Rexie always felt like napping.

Chapter 2: A Yawn Before Breakfast

One bright morning, the sun peeked over the volcanoes, and the dinos of the valley stretched, shook the dew off their tails, and started their day.

But Rexie? He yawned so wide a butterfly flew right into his mouth!

“Oops! Sorry, little flutter,” Rexie mumbled, letting the butterfly out gently.

“Rexie!” called Tina the Triceratops, trotting over. “We’re playing dino-tag near the waterfall. Come join us!”

Rexie blinked slowly. “Can I… just tag along and nap in the sun?”

Tina giggled. “Only if you promise not to fall asleep on the game path again!”

Chapter 3: A Gentle Roar

Later that day, while the other dinosaurs played tag, Rexie curled up near a boulder warmed by the sun.

But as he closed his eyes, he heard a loud voice from above.

“ROAAARRR!”

It was Spike the Spinosaurus, practicing his grown-up roar. “Gotta keep my roar sharp!” he said.

Tina rolled her eyes. “All he does is roar. He even roared at the moon last night.”

Rexie stood up slowly and opened his mouth.

“Rooooaa—”

But halfway through his roar, he yawned so wide, the roar came out as a “Roooo…Zzzzzz…”

Everyone laughed kindly. “That’s the sleepiest roar in all of Dino Hollow!” chuckled Bronto the long-neck.

Chapter 4: A Stormy Night

Chapter 4: A Stormy Night

That evening, dark clouds rolled over the valley. A storm was coming.

Rexie curled into his leafy nest, pulling a fern over his face like a blanket.

But then—BOOM!

A loud crack of thunder shook the trees.

Rexie jumped.

Then came the rain—huge, dino-sized drops pounding on leaves and rocks.

In the distance, the glowing eyes of the volcano flickered with lightning.

Even though Rexie was sleepy, he couldn’t fall asleep. His claws trembled. His tail twitched.

“I don’t like thunder,” he whispered.

Just then, a soft voice called through the storm.

“Rexie? You okay?”

It was Lulu the little Pteranodon, flapping through the rain.

Rexie peeked out from under his fern.

“I’m trying to sleep… but the thunder keeps scaring my dreams away.”

Lulu nodded. “Me too. Come on. Let’s go to the Great Tree.”

The Great Tree was a giant tree in the middle of the valley. Its thick branches made a cozy roof, and many dinos snuggled beneath it during storms.

Rexie followed Lulu, careful not to splash too loudly in the puddles.

Chapter 6: Under the Great Tree

Chapter 6: Under the Great Tree

Under the Great Tree, dozens of young dinos were already nestled together—tail to tail and horn to snout.

Tina scooted over. “Come here, Sleepy Roar. We saved you a spot.”

Rexie smiled and curled up beside her.

As the thunder rumbled outside, a gentle voice rose above the storm. It was Old Nana Brachy, the wisest dinosaur in the valley.

“Who’s ready for a dino-dream tale?” she asked.

All the baby dinos cheered—except Rexie, who had already let out a big sleepy sigh.

Nana Brachy began:

“Long, long ago, there was a dino with a roar so peaceful, it could calm the wildest winds and lull the stars to sleep.

Every night, that dino would climb the tallest hill and gently roar into the sky—not to scare, but to soothe.

The stars would twinkle, the trees would sway, and every creature would sleep soundly…”

As her story went on, the storm outside began to soften. The wind slowed. The thunder stopped grumbling.

And Rexie? His eyes were heavy… his breath slow…

He opened his mouth and gave one last sleepy roar—

“Roooooaa…zzzzzzzzz.”

Chapter 8: A New Morning

Chapter 8: A New Morning

By morning, the sky was bright and blue. The storm had passed, and the valley was fresh and quiet.

Sunlight peeked through the Great Tree, and soft snores echoed through the nest of young dinos.

Rexie opened one eye.

He stretched his big legs, shook off his sleep, and smiled.

“I think I had the best dino-dream ever.”

Lulu fluttered awake beside him. “Me too! I dreamt I flew through clouds made of marshmallows!”

Tina giggled. “I dreamt Spike lost his voice and had to whisper all day.”

Everyone laughed.

Even Nana Brachy chuckled. “Must’ve been that sleepy roar of yours, Rexie. It put the whole valley to sleep.”

Chapter 9: The Sleepy Roar Spreads

That day, the dinos of the valley started a new tradition.

Every evening, just before bed, they gathered at the Great Tree.

And Rexie? He became the official Sleepy Roar Leader.

He would step to the middle, take a deep breath, and let out the softest, warmest roar ever heard.

“Rooooaa…zzz…”

Then all the baby dinos would yawn, curl up, and drift off into dreamy sleep.

Even Spike the Spinosaurus tried it once—but his roar was more of a snore.

And high above, the stars twinkled happily—lulled by the sleepy sound from Dino Hollow.

🌙 Moral of the Story:

You don’t have to be loud to be powerful. Even a sleepy heart can bring calm, comfort, and joy to others.
