🌞 Chapter 1: A Picnic in the Park
It was a bright and sunny morning in the city. Curious George, the little monkey with an even bigger imagination, was humming happily as he packed for a picnic with the Man with the Yellow Hat.
They were headed to Mapleberry Park, where birds chirped, fountains splashed, and squirrels performed acrobatics in the trees.
George helped pack sandwiches, juice boxes, banana muffins (his favorite!), and—most importantly—a big paper bag filled with roasted peanuts.
“Now George,” said the Man with the Yellow Hat, buttoning his coat, “those peanuts are for the animals. Don’t eat them all before we get there!”
George nodded eagerly. But as soon as they arrived at the park, a curious glint flickered in his eyes.

They set up the picnic under a shady oak tree. As the Man with the Yellow Hat read a book, George wandered off with the peanut bag in hand.
He fed a few to a friendly squirrel. Tossed one to a waddling duck. Shared a couple with a chubby raccoon.

“Oh no!” George squeaked. “No more peanuts?”
He ran back to the picnic blanket, grabbed the backup peanut bag hidden in the basket (just in case), and skipped toward the nearby petting zoo to share more treats.

First, he found a duck, pecking at a shell.

Next, George spotted two squirrels arguing over something shiny.
“Eep eep!” he squeaked in monkey talk. “Did you take my peanuts?”
The squirrels froze. One dropped what it was holding—an empty peanut shell.
George added them to the notebook.

The peanut shell trail continued past the fountain and into a cluster of bushes.
George tiptoed in—careful not to step on crunchy leaves.
And there, just beyond the bushes, was a strange sight:
A line of tiny paw prints and a half-eaten peanut… dipped in jelly?
George tilted his head.
“Who eats peanut butter and jelly… in the park?”
🐘 Chapter 5: The Zoo Zone
The trail led George toward the zoo fence. He climbed through a small gap and crept into the petting area.
He passed a sleepy goat chewing on straw, a llama wearing a hat (someone’s lost prop), and finally…
An elephant.
Not just any elephant—Ellie, the gentle giant who loved peanuts.
But something was odd. Ellie had peanut shells around her feet, jelly on her trunk, and a sheepish look in her eyes.
George gasped.

He pulled out his notebook and circled her name.
Then he asked kindly, “Did you take the peanut bag?”
Ellie shook her head.
But she pointed her trunk—toward a picnic table on the other side of the fence.

George clambered over the fence and tiptoed to the picnic table.
There sat a little girl in red overalls, munching on a sandwich. Beside her was a red backpack—wide open, and inside…
George’s peanut bag!
George pointed. “Oo-oo! Ah-ah!”
The girl blinked. “Oh! Are these your peanuts?”
George nodded furiously.
“I’m so sorry,” she said. “I thought it was part of the snack table for the animals. I saw the bag near the bushes and thought someone had left it.”
George smiled. Mystery solved!
The girl giggled. “Want to share them?”
He gave an excited spin. “Oo-oo-oo!”
🧺 Chapter 7: A Picnic for Everyone
George returned to the Man with the Yellow Hat, who looked up from his book.
“Well, did you enjoy your exploring?”
George gave a thumbs up and handed him the notebook titled “The Curious Case of the Missing Peanuts.”
Together, they set up a proper picnic—with the returned peanut bag safely in the middle.
Soon, Ellie the Elephant wandered over. The squirrel brothers joined (with slightly better manners). Even the jelly-loving duck waddled up.
They shared not just peanuts, but stories, laughter, and banana muffins.
🌇 Chapter 8: Sunset and Smiles
As the sun dipped low and painted the sky in peach and lavender, George laid back on the blanket with a peanut shell on his nose.
The Man with the Yellow Hat chuckled. “Another adventure, huh?”
George grinned.
He had solved a mystery, made a new friend, and learned that sometimes, sharing leads to surprising connections.
Above them, fireflies blinked like twinkling stars, and the trees whispered in the breeze.
It had been a perfect, peanuty day.
